A water tracker app is simple until it isn’t: most people stop logging water within days because it’s one more app to open. Calorix puts water in the same place as your meals, with a goal that comes from your weight and buttons on your Home Screen and Lock Screen, so a glass takes one tap.
How much water you need
Hydration needs vary with your body, your activity and the weather. The US National Academies, which set the official intake values, put the adequate intake of total water at about 2.7 liters a day for women and 3.7 liters for men, from all drinks and food (National Academies). About 80% of that usually comes from drinks, including coffee and tea, and 20% from food. People who are very active or live in hot climates may need more.
The panel deliberately didn’t give a number of glasses, because hydration comes from many sources, not just water. That’s why Calorix treats its goal as a starting point you can change, not a rule. If you have a heart or kidney condition, or your doctor has given you a fluid limit, follow their advice.
How Calorix sets your water goal
Calorix starts from about 33 ml per kg of body weight, rounds to the nearest 50 ml and keeps the goal between 500 and 6,000 ml. If it doesn’t know your weight, it uses 2,000 ml. You can replace it with your own goal anytime.
| Body weight | Starting water goal |
|---|---|
| 50 kg (110 lb) | 1,650 ml (about 56 fl oz) |
| 60 kg (132 lb) | 2,000 ml (about 68 fl oz) |
| 70 kg (154 lb) | 2,300 ml (about 78 fl oz) |
| 80 kg (176 lb) | 2,650 ml (about 90 fl oz) |
| 90 kg (198 lb) | 2,950 ml (about 100 fl oz) |
| 100 kg (220 lb) | 3,300 ml (about 112 fl oz) |
The goal covers what you drink. Water in food, such as fruit, vegetables and soup, comes on top.
Ways to log a glass
- In the app: tap to add a glass, a bottle or a large bottle, or enter any amount. In metric, the defaults are 250 ml (adjustable from 50 to 1,500 ml), 500 ml and 750 ml; in US units, 8, 16.9 and 24 fl oz.
- From a widget: the water widget, the large calories-left widget and the buddy widget each have a button that adds a glass without opening the app, on the Home Screen or the Lock Screen.
- From Control Center: on iOS 18 and later, add the Calorix water control.
- With Siri: say you want to log water in Calorix, from 1 to 8 glasses. It works from the Shortcuts app too.

Water, Apple Health and your other habits
Every glass you log is saved to Apple Health as water, with your permission, so other apps that read Apple Health see it too. Deleting an entry in Calorix removes it from Apple Health.
Water also counts toward your day in Calorix: “drink your water goal” is one of the daily challenges that earn coins for Toasty’s outfits, and Toasty takes a little sip every time you log. Your water total sits on the same screen as your calories, protein and fasting timer.
What Calorix doesn’t do (yet)
Calorix doesn’t send water reminders today: its reminders cover meals, your streak, fasting and weigh-ins. A water widget on your Lock Screen keeps the day’s progress in view instead. There’s also no “cups” unit; water is logged in milliliters or US fluid ounces.
