Frequently asked questions

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Calorix and tap Cancel Subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting the app doesn't cancel a subscription.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles payments and refunds for App Store purchases. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something went wrong, email us too and we'll help where we can.

I changed phones. How do I get my data back?

If you signed in with Apple or Google on your old phone, sign in with the same account on the new one and your history is restored. To restore a subscription, use Restore Purchases in the app's settings with the same Apple Account.

How do I delete my account and data?

Open the app's settings and choose Delete account. This removes your data from our servers and asks our service providers to delete theirs. Deleting the app alone doesn't delete data stored on our servers.

The AI got my meal wrong. What can I do?

Open the meal and check each ingredient. You can change any portion or the grams, remove items, add what's missing, or use Fix with AI and say what to change, for example "no rice, add two eggs". Adding a note such as "cooked in butter" before scanning also helps.

Do I need an account to use Calorix?

No. You can use Calorix without signing in. Sign in with Apple or Google only if you want your log backed up and synced to a new phone.

Getting started

  1. Download Calorix from the App Store on your iPhone (iOS 17 or later).
  2. Answer a few questions about your goal so Calorix can suggest daily targets. You can change them later.
  3. Log your first meal: snap a photo, scan a barcode or nutrition label, or type or say what you ate.
  4. Meet Toasty. Give your companion a name and a voice. Its flame grows as you build your habit.

Want to understand the numbers first? Our calculators use the same formulas as the app, and how Calorix calculates your calorie target explains every step.

Logging and accuracy

AI estimates are a starting point, and you’re always in control:

  • Check the breakdown. Every scan lists its ingredients with a portion, grams, calories and a confidence badge. Items marked to check deserve a second look.
  • Fix what’s off. Change a portion with the slider or type the grams, remove items, or add what the camera missed.
  • Tell the AI. Fix with AI understands corrections like “half the rice” or “add a tablespoon of olive oil”, and shows the changes before you accept them.
  • Add a note before you scan. Notes like “cooked in butter” or “large portion” help with things a photo can’t show.
  • Use labels for packaged food. Scanning a barcode or a nutrition label gives you the manufacturer’s numbers.

Subscriptions and billing

  • Free trial. New subscribers can try Calorix Pro free for 3 days. You’ll see the price and the trial details before you confirm.
  • Plans. Weekly, monthly or yearly App Store subscriptions. Prices are shown in your currency in the app and on the App Store.
  • Cancelling. Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Calorix → Cancel Subscription, at least 24 hours before the trial or the current period ends.
  • Restoring a purchase. Use Restore Purchases in the app’s settings, signed in with the same Apple Account.
  • Refunds. Handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your account and data

  • No account needed. Calorix works without signing in. Sign in with Apple or Google to back up your log and sync it to a new phone.
  • Export. You can export your data from the app’s settings.
  • Delete. Settings → Delete account removes your data from our servers. See our privacy policy for details.
  • Your photos. Food photos are analyzed by our AI provider to estimate nutrition and are never used for advertising.

Toasty, streaks and challenges

  • Streaks count the days you log at least one meal.
  • Streak freezes are earned through challenges and protect your streak on a day you miss. A sick-day pass covers days when you’re unwell. Neither is ever sold.
  • Coins come from daily and weekly challenges and unlock outfits for Toasty.
  • Toasty gets sleepy, never sad. If you take a break, its flame dims; log a meal and it perks up.

Apple Health and notifications

  • Apple Health: connect it during setup or later in the app’s settings, and choose which data to share. You can change this anytime in the Health app. Health data is never sold or used for advertising.
  • Reminders: Calorix learns when you usually eat and sends at most two nudges a day. Turn them off anytime in the app or in iOS Settings.
