MyNetDiary is one of the few big calorie counters whose free plan has no ads and still includes the barcode scanner. We make Calorix, a competing app, so every fact here comes from MyNetDiary’s own website, its FAQ or its App Store listing, checked on October 23, 2026. When you search the App Store, the app is called “Calorie Counter - MyNetDiary”; the same company also makes separate apps (PlateAI, Carb Genius, a diabetes tracker) with their own subscriptions.
What’s free in MyNetDiary
MyNetDiary says its free tier “includes the barcode scanner, voice logging, 13 charts, reports across your full history, and a shopping list, with no ads and no account required to start” (MyNetDiary). It also tracks up to 108 nutrients per food, syncs with Apple Health, and has an Apple Watch app and widgets. Its App Store listing sums it up as “No ads, no account required, no paywall tricks.”
Two limits of the free plan: logging a meal from a photo (Meal Scan) and intermittent fasting are Premium features.
What Premium and Premium Plus add
Premium adds Meal Scan photo logging, intermittent fasting and calorie cycling, diet plans and more than 600 recipes by registered dietitians, a meal planner, recipe import, health and medication tracking, Fitbit, Garmin and Withings sync, and Advanced Autopilot, which MyNetDiary describes as an adaptive algorithm that “estimates your actual energy expenditure (TDEE) from your logged food and your weight trend, then updates calorie and macro targets”.
Premium Plus adds AI Coach, AI Suggest Meals, AI Voice Logging and an AI Restaurant Menu Scan on top of Premium.
How much MyNetDiary costs
MyNetDiary’s FAQ answers “How much does MyNetDiary cost?” with three paid options (MyNetDiary FAQ):
| Plan | US price |
|---|---|
| Premium, monthly | $8.99 a month |
| Premium, yearly | $59.99 a year (“only about 17¢ a day”) |
| Premium Plus, yearly | $99.99 a year |
| Lifetime Premium | $179.99, one-time |
Its free-plan page also prices Premium Plus at $14.99 a month. On the website, Premium is “$9” a month or “$60” a year, and a website upgrade unlocks Premium in every MyNetDiary app. The US App Store lists the same $8.99 and $59.99 Premium rows, a $14.99 Premium Plus row and two more Premium offers at $29.99 and $39.99 without plan lengths.
Outside the US, prices are set per country: the UK App Store, for example, listed Premium rows at £3.99, £11.99, £15.99 and £23.99 and Premium Plus at £6.99 on October 23, 2026, without plan lengths (UK App Store).
The free trial: “MyNetDiary and PlateAI offer a free 7-day trial of the Premium subscription on iOS.” Apple allows one trial per person, so if you had one before, a new subscription is charged at once.
How to cancel MyNetDiary
- Bought in the iPhone app: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → MyNetDiary → Cancel Subscription. MyNetDiary can’t cancel App Store subscriptions for you.
- Bought on the website: cancel on the Settings → Membership page of mynetdiary.com.
- Bought on Google Play: Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
You keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for, and deleting the app doesn’t cancel a subscription.
Refunds
For App Store purchases, “Everything about App Store subscriptions is entirely managed by Apple”, so request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com (Apple Support). For new subscriptions bought on the website or on Google Play, MyNetDiary offers “a 14-day money-back guarantee with a full refund” through its support team (MyNetDiary FAQ).
Is MyNetDiary Premium worth it?
MyNetDiary is the better choice if you want a capable free calorie counter without ads, with a free barcode scanner and detailed nutrients, or you want adaptive calorie targets (Advanced Autopilot) for less than most coaching apps charge: Premium’s $59.99 a year matches Cronometer Gold and costs less than MacroFactor ($71.99) or Lose It! Premium ($79.99). It runs on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Android and the web.
It’s less of a fit if you want photo logging for free, or a simpler app: MyNetDiary has a lot of features, though it lets you choose a calories-only setup during onboarding.
Alternatives
- Cronometer: also free with a barcode scanner, and stronger on micronutrients; Gold is $59.99 a year. See Cronometer price.
- MacroFactor: no free version; adaptive coaching at $71.99 a year. See MacroFactor price.
- Lose It!: a free Basic plan; Premium $79.99 a year, and its barcode scanner is moving to Premium. See Lose It! Premium price.
- Calorix (our app, iPhone only): starts without an account, logs from a photo, barcode, label or your voice, and shows each ingredient with its grams so you can correct it. Barcode lookups are free with no daily limit, plus 3 free AI scans a day; Pro is $9.99 a month or $39.99 a year in the US after a 3-day free trial. It has no Android or web app.
People often compare MyNetDiary with MyFitnessPal: see MyFitnessPal alternatives and MyFitnessPal Premium price. What other apps include without paying is in free calorie counter apps, and if you’re leaving Noom, see Noom alternatives. All 15 apps we track are in calorie app prices in 2026.
