Lifesum is a Swedish calorie and diet app (Lifesum AB) that is especially popular in Europe. It has a free version and Premium plans, but no price page: lifesum.com/pricing returned “Page not found” when we checked. We make Calorix, a competing app, so every fact below comes from Lifesum’s help centre or its App Store listings, checked on October 23, 2026.
What’s free in Lifesum
Lifesum’s App Store description says the app “is free to download and use with limited features. For the full Lifesum experience, we offer 1-month, 3-month, and annual Premium auto-renewing subscriptions.”
On the free plan you log with what Lifesum calls the traditional tracker: search the food database, scan a barcode (“Tap the barcode icon to scan a product’s barcode”), quick-add calories and macros, and copy yesterday’s meals. Lifesum’s help centre notes that “AI Tracking is a Premium Feature”, and so are Favorites and the “Track with AI” button (Lifesum help).
What Premium adds
According to Lifesum, Premium gives “access to all the content in the app”, including (Lifesum help):
- AI tracking: log a meal by photo, voice or text;
- your own goals: set your daily calories and your carbohydrate, protein and fat targets;
- meal plans and programs by nutritionists, such as a 3-week weight loss plan, intermittent fasting or sugar detox;
- your own foods, recipes, meals and exercises, and more nutrients per meal (sodium, fiber, cholesterol…);
- all Lifesum recipes.
How much Lifesum Premium costs
Because Lifesum has no price page, the App Store is the most reliable public source. These are the plan-labelled rows on October 23, 2026:
| Plan | US App Store | UK App Store | Euro-area App Stores |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 month | not listed | £7.99 or £14.99 | €9.99 or €14.99 |
| 3 months | $29.99 or $39.99 | £16.49 or £39.99 | €21.99 or €39.99 |
| 6 months | $69.99 | not listed | not listed |
| 1 year | $99.99 or $119.99 | £99.99 | €99.99 |
The euro prices are the same on the German, French, Italian and Dutch stores; the Spanish store listed the year at €99.99 too, with 1-month rows at €10.99 and €14.99. The US store showed three more Premium rows without a plan length ($21.99, $29.99, $44.99). In Canada the year was CA$119.99 and in Australia A$99.99.
Two prices for one plan mean Apple lists two offers; Lifesum’s paywall decides which you see. The App Store always shows the price and period before you confirm. Lifesum also sells Premium on its website and through PayPal, Paddle and Samsung, where prices may differ.
How to cancel Lifesum
Lifesum advises cancelling “at least three days in advance in order to be sure that the cancellation is processed in time” (Lifesum help).
- App Store: open the App Store → your account → Subscriptions → Lifesum → Cancel Subscription. “We cannot help cancel your App Store subscription”, Lifesum says, so if you’ve lost access to that Apple Account, contact Apple.
- Google Play: Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Lifesum.
- Website, PayPal, Paddle or Samsung: follow the matching steps in the same help article.
Refunds
“In order to get a refund for your Lifesum subscription you need to request this within a 14 day period after the purchase” (Lifesum help). App Store purchases can be refunded only by Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com (Apple Support); purchases on the Lifesum website, through PayPal or the Samsung store go to Lifesum’s support with your receipt; Paddle purchases go through Paddle.
Is Lifesum Premium worth it?
Lifesum is the better choice if you want a polished app with nutritionist meal plans, recipes and AI logging, in your language: it’s available in 14 languages on the App Store. On a yearly plan it’s in the upper half of calorie app prices.
It’s less of a fit if you want AI logging for free, or you’d pay month by month in the US, where the store listed no 1-month plan on the day we checked.
Alternatives
- Yazio: a free version with a barcode scanner; Pro is paid upfront per period, with US App Store rows from $23.90 a year. See Yazio PRO price.
- Free apps with a barcode scanner: Cronometer and MyNetDiary keep the scanner in their free plans. See Cronometer price, MyNetDiary price and what 13 apps give you in free calorie counter apps.
- Calorix (our app, iPhone only): free barcode lookups with no daily limit and 3 free AI photo scans a day; Pro is $9.99 a month or $39.99 a year in the US after a 3-day free trial, in 16 languages. It has no Android or web app.
